Congratulations! On your new baby. You’re going to be a great parent. Baby’s safety is always the highest priority for every parent. September is celebrated as Baby Safety Month so it is perfect time to brush up these safety tips for your baby.
- Get your car seat installed by a certified child passenger seat technician (CPST). You can also learn to use and install your baby’s car seat by checking out various tutorials available online from certified technicians. Or carefully follow all of the car seat manufacturer’s instructions when installing the seat in your vehicle.
- Before putting your baby down on bed for a nap or for the night, don’t forget to remove blankets and toys from the crib and use a sleep sack on colder nights. Make sure the mattress fits perfectly within the crib to prevent your baby from slipping between the mattress and the side of the crib. Check this out for a great, breathable and safety mattress.
- To help keep your baby safe in the bedroom, all corded items should be kept at a distance of at-least three feet from any part of the crib, bassinet, play yard or other safe sleep environment.
- Always make sure that your baby can regulate their body temperature while they are asleep. Best way to do that is to dress them in natural fibers like cotton, bamboo, and merino.
- Make sure the sharp object such as knives and all cleaning chemicals are kept at a place where baby can’t reach.
Continue these safety tips and practices to protect your baby this September and throughout the rest of the year.
