5 ways to happy mornings

Do you wake up in the morning feeling like a saggy bean bag laying on the floor? I feel you. I used to be the same person. I used to be a total opposite of a morning person, a total night owl.

2020 has been a tough year for everybody. Pandemic has hit hard on our bodies and minds. But today I wanted to share 5 ways to make your mornings happier that I’ve practised over the past few months. These are things that I personally try to follow every morning that make such a difference in not only my mornings, but my entire day.

No Social Media Mornings

Don’t start your day by seeing things you see on social media. It’s better to play it safe and stay off social media all together in the morning. Try saving checking your social media accounts at least 4 hours after you wake up, when you’ve already had a good start to your day and your mood won’t be as influenced by others.

Say Hello to Water

It is very important to hydrate yourself first thing in the morning. We often feel drowsy and tired upon waking up because we are a bit dehydrated and need to replenish those water stores in our bodies. Try drinking at least 2 glasses of water immediately upon waking up to revive yourself a bit, and the warmer the better.

Exercise/Yoga

Getting our blood pumping early in the morning helps both our body and mind become more energised. It is not necessary to do heavy exercises, taking just 15 minutes to stretch out some of your muscles after waking up will help you to feel more limber and alert. 10 minutes meditation can also help in boosting our mood in the morning.

Turn On Your Favorite Music

Music makes us happy! If you’re really struggling to wake up in the morning, turning on your favourite music might be just what you need to get some energy and boost your mood. Listening to some music during your morning shower or while you’re making breakfast, will make you feel energised instantly!

Right Sleep Environment

Always stay away from your phone/electronic gadgets at least 30 minutes before going to bed. By doing that, you will sleep more calmly and stress free. Also, sleep on a good breathable mattress which is made from natural materials, that can give you a deep rejuvenating sleep so that you wake up recharged for the next morning!
